About this resource

An alternative way of introducing the terrible case of the slave ship ‘Zong’ and it would work well with Strange Cargo. The court case fought at the time could be used in a study of the development of human rights within the law.

Format

Narrative with voice-over: Famous story from 1781 of the massacre of slaves on board ship in order to claim insurance which strengthened the abolitionists cause in public opinion.
