About this resource
This track could combine with a study of the rights of children in history, such as the factory workers of the Industrial Revolution, whose parents chose to put them to work in the mills. A class debate on the subject would be very thought-provoking and give students some empathy for people in desperate financial circumstances in the developing world.
Format
Narrative about the poverty and desperation than can lead parents to sell their own children.
Visuals/Underscore: on screen text over recorder & guitar blues lament.
