Someone Else's Blues
About this resource
This track would be an excellent focus on our responsibilities towards fairly traded goods. The line:” getting what we want means giving someone else the blues” can be used as a focus for a class debate on rights and responsibilities. This could combine with the narrative Chocolate Slaves or taking the Slavery Footprint survey.
Format
Song: Blues style focusing on where the products we buy come from, how they’re made, do we (should we) care and linking Fairtrade, poverty and modern slavery.
Visuals: Contrasting images - wealth & poverty, consumerism & exploitation.
